Richmond, Va., September 5, 2022 – Advantus Strategies, a Richmond-based consulting firm specializing in government relations, business development and environment and natural resource matters, has strengthened its government affairs team with the addition of Kyle Shreve as Director of Government Relations.
Before joining Advantus, he served as the executive director of the Virginia Agribusiness Council, where he led outreach and advocacy efforts in the issue areas of agriculture, environmental, energy, natural resources, tax, and labor. He will join the recent addition of Kathy Burcher as the newest member of Advantus’ government affairs team.

About Kyle Shreve
As head of the Virginia Agribusiness Council, Shreve led advocacy efforts in the Virginia General Assembly and on regulatory matters considered by state agencies.
Shreve has more than 14 years of trade association and government affairs experience in Washington, DC, and Richmond. Prior to his service with the Agribusiness Council, he served in the governmental relations departments of the Virginia Association of Health Plans, the Virginia Retail Merchants Association, and the International Dairy Foods Association.
Kyle has a bachelor’s degrees in Political Science and History from Penn State University. He also earned a master’s degree in Political Management from the George Washington University. He is originally from Pennsylvania and currently resides in Midlothian, VA, with his wife Christie and their boys Bennett and Connor.
